In January, The US Non-farm Payrolls Data Have A Big Upgrade

  In the evening of Friday Beijing time, the U.S. non-farm payrolls in January gave the market a surprise, and the jobless rate remained at its lowest level in 17 years.

  According to statistics released by the U.S. Department of Labor, the number of non-farm payrolls in the United States increased by 200,000 in January, higher than the expected 180,000, much higher than the previous figure (148,000).

  In January, the unemployment rate remained unchanged at 4.1%, still the lowest level since 2000, unchanged from the expected level.

  Hourly earnings increased 0.3%, higher than expected, unchanged from previous values; an increase of 2.9% over the same period of last year, marking the largest increase in 2009.——
